About Shireen

California Wage and Hour, Class Action, & PAGA Specialist
Guiding Parties Through Complex Employment Disputes
With a foundation built on years of hands-on experience and a heartfelt commitment to understanding all parties, Shireen is a dedicated mediator specializing in wage and hour matters, including class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters across California and the United States.
Her journey began working in-house at the George Washington University, where she gained a unique, practical perspective on employment disputes before rising to become an employment litigation partner at the distinguished law firms of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and then Duane Morris LLP.
She was twice named to Best Lawyers’ Ones to Watch during her career as a litigator. Shireen’s blend of business insight and high-stakes litigation experience allows her to approach every mediation with strategic understanding.
Shireen's Approach
Shireen’s approach is defined by empathy—a quality she believes is indispensable for effective conflict resolution. She recognizes the emotional and financial impact that employment disputes have on individuals, businesses, and communities. Her ability to listen deeply and connect with each party creates a safe, respectful environment, fostering honest dialogue and encouraging meaningful resolutions.
A proud graduate of the Harvard Mediation Intensive, Shireen brings world-class skills and state-of-the-art techniques to each engagement. She combines this training with her extensive track record litigating large-scale wage and hour matters, as well as single and multi-plaintiff employment disputes, in California and nationally. Such experience has given her a nuanced understanding of both the legal intricacies and the human stories at the heart of every case.
Legal Expertise
Shireen’s law practice stretched beyond wage and hour to contracts, licensing, IP, governance and more. When she was actively practicing law, Shireen tackled nation-wide classification investigations alongside employment related disputes of all stripes—from failure to accommodate claims, to discrimination claims, to executive compensation matters. She even had a whistleblower matter that went all the way to the United States Supreme Court, where her client prevailed in a 9-0 ruling by the Court.
With an undergraduate degree in Physics, Shireen enjoys digging into the details of even the most technical arguments. She leans on this analytical training not only for damages analysis, but to help unpack the data presented at mediation and to help the parties understand how that data might translate to a jury.
